Tues, Jan 17, 2017

Journal

Yesterday was gloomy day. It was pouring rain the whole day. Nathan worked out in the rain and didnt want to do anything outside last night. We made steak and salad for dinner. The piece of steak he bought was so big that I only ate half. I brought the other half to work. I only ate half of that and some of my lasgna.

Tonight's dinner will be chicken covered in corn flakes and carrots and maybe salad too. Cathy made us chicken covered in corn flakes the other day. I want to try to make it myself. Steve, from work, gave some instructions on how to make it.

This is how Im going to make it:
- marinate my chicken in buttermilk for about 30mins
- crush the corn flakes into smaller pieces
- cover chicken in flour
- brush chicken in egg wash
- cover chicken in corn flakes
Can put salt and pepper in flour
Can put seasonings on corn flakes for more flavour
- put chicken in oven for about 30 mins

I have to clean my rooms.

Journal

My sister posted on Facebook about a photo challenge. You have to post a photo every day on the posted topic. The first photo was a self portrait. I took it on Sunday and Nathan made my hair look like a Troll. Haha. The second topic was 'what you wore'. We still had snow packed in our backyard and front yard. I wanted to take a picture of it before it melted. It called for rain yesterday. It was a race againest time last night. When i get home at about 5pm it starts to get dark. I wanted to take the picture before it gets dark and before it started to rain. Annie helped me took the picture. It ended up being fuzzy but its ok.

Gratitude

I am grateful for my health.

Goal

My goal is to save $10,000 by the end of 2019 (two years).

Journal

On Fri, Jan 13 I finally got these curlers. I ordered them back in Oct/Nov. I remember I had them when I was younger. It was more of a nosglastic item for me. It was super cheap like $2 or $5 or something like that. I will use it until it breaks down on me.

I used it twice so far. My hair is hard to hold curls. Im not sure if it is the weather or if I need to use more hair products.

Last night we went to Cathy Chow's housr for dinner. She is a great cook. She makes everything look so easy. We ate so much. After dinner we played Cards Againest Humanity and I won! It was the first time ever me winning the game

Gratitude

I am grateful that I am not allergic to any foods.

Goal

I need to start make a plan on how to achieve my goals.

Journal

Tonight was my alone night. Nathan has the day off. My parents went to my aunts house. I made my own dinner. I made some beef on my George Foreman, creamed corn and bacon wrapped Shitake mushrooms. I made some veggies (mushrooms and fried shitake mushrooms) for my lunch tomorrow.

I cleaned up a bit.  I did two loads of laundry. I am still cleaning up my 'stuff' room. I am throwing so many things that i dont use and dont bring me joy anymore.

Gratitude

I am grateful that i get a day to myself every once in awhile.

Goal

My goal is to finish cleaning up my 'stuff' room in a month. (Feb 12)

Journal

Tonight i went to dinner with Jenn Clado and two of her friends for her bday. We went to Dublin Crossing at Marine Gateway. I ordered stuffed yorkies. It came out cold. It wasnt very good. It was a girls night out.

Yesterday we were going to go watch a movie. But we walked around the mall instead. We bought a few things. One is a pair of boots for me. Nathan has been looking for pair for me for a long time. He likes one with a heel. I like one with a grip on the bottom. It is really hard to find one with that combination. We finally found one at Aldo. I am not sure where i will be wearing it to. It is affordable.. its only $150. Nathan was going to spend $350 on a pair of boots for me from Geox. Thats too expensive.

Gratitude

I am grateful that i have known some friends for a long time.

Journal

We woke up late...like we usually do on the weekends. The plan was to go to Nathan's parents place for dinner. He called them in the afternoon to confirm. They said it was snowing pretty hard so its better if we not come. We decided to watch the last Pirates of the Caribeen. I can only watch about half of it before I start to doze off. I made some stirfry with chicken with a side of rice and beans. For dessert we walked to E. Tea for some bubble tea. It is still icy and slippery outside. We got the mango toast. We were disappointed by what we got. We expected a toast box. We got cut up toast with mango sauce and a scoop of ice cream.

Gratitude

I am grateful that I havent fallen on the icy slushy snow.

Goal

My goal is to make more long term goals.

Journal

Because has been snowing and cold the past few weeks, Trout Lake froze over and you can walk on it. Ppl walk in it, skate on it and even play hockey on it. My mom wanted to go check it out. Nathan and I took her there to take some pictures. There were alot of people there. It is only open for 4 days for ppl to skate on before the ice gets thinner and melts away.

For dinner, we took my parents to Rio in Coquitlam. Food is good as usual. They had the dancers on at 730pm and 830pm.

Gratitude

I am grateful for my ability to eat 😃.. and that I enjoy food.

Goal

I want to learn hula / polynesian dancing.

Sat, Jan 7

Journal:

Yesterday I had the day off. It was in lieu of the stat holiday on Sun, Jan 1. Nathan came over at about 9:45am. I was in the middle of making bacon. I made bacon, sausages, eggs and toast for brrakfast. We stayed in all morning and afternoon. We watched a movie, played crib and played Scrabble. We finally left the house and walked to The Tipper restaurant for dinner. It was a 45 min walk each way. The food was less than impressive. When we were there Anna Lai and her bf came in for dinner. They sat next to us and we were chit chatting for a bit.

Gratitude:

I am grateful that I can walk for long periods of time.

Goal:

10,000 steps a day

Journal:

I stayed home tonight. It is very rare that I stay home. it was cold outside. I wanted to clean my boxes. I went thru three of them. I also went thru my shoe holder in my closet. I threw out four pairs of shoes. I managed to do some exercises before I head to bed.

Gratitude:

I am grateful that I have the opportunity to buy lots of things.

Goal:

To clean / purge my boxes by thurs, jan 19.

The picture is from my dinner. My mom made it. It is nice to have a home cooked meal every once in awhile.

A start of a new year. New resolutions. The one I really focused on last year was getting better. Its been a year and I am feeling better. Im not 100% yet but on the road there.

This blog helps me create three habits: to journal everyday, express gratitute everyday and make a goal everyday.
